I am excited to announce that The Skinnygirl Dish, by Bethenny Frankel with Eve Adamson, is now available in stores and online. Bethenny and I are very proud of this book, which takes the principles from Naturally Thin and applies them to cooking and eating at home. This book takes the intimidation factor out of cooking, even for those who have never even boiled water. Cooking can be easy and you can cook food that tastes great and is also in keeping with your skinnygirl lifestyle. I loved helping Bethenny write this book and testing many of the delicious recipes. You won’t believe how good they are and how much Bethenny has cut down the fat and sugar and eliminated most if not all of the processed ingredients. This is a practical, no-nonsense, cooking-in-the-real-world guide. I think you’re going to love it.

Meanwhile, Bethenny and I are already hard at work on book #3, so stay tuned for more information about this new exciting title. I can’t tell you what it’s about yet, but I can tell you that you’re going to find it very, very interesting. By the way, congratulations to Bethenny, who is expecting her first baby.

I’ve got some other exciting projects lined up for 2010 as well, and I am going to start keeping you up to date each month on all the publications I have coming out, so stay tuned–more soon from the desk.

The Second Book is Done!

Naturally Thin has been on the New York Times Best Seller list for 18 weeks now! We’re at #13, just out of the top ten, but still hanging in there. You wouldn’t believe the amazing testimonials Bethenny is getting from hundreds of women who have lost weight after reading this book. The frank message has really meant a lot to a lot of people, and helped them see their way out of the tangle of disordered eating and diet obsession. If you haven’t checked it out yet, please do!

Meanwhile, we’ve just finished Bethenny Frankel’s second book, Skinnygirl Dish, which will be out in January, so stay tuned for that. I think you’re going to love it. It’s full of amazing, easy, economical, delicious recipes to help keep you on the skinnygirl track. You can preorder it here.

Another book that just came out is The Complete Idiot’s Guide to the Chakras, which I wrote with my beautiful and talented friend, Dr. Betsy Rippentrop, a psychologist and yoga teacher who uses chakra therapy with some of her clients. This book is a great introduction to the chakras–what they are, what they mean for you, and how to work with them to maximize your potential. It’s a fun and easy read with a lot of hands-on help.

I’ve also got a few more books coming out. Pets Gone Green is a book about how to live “green” with your companion animals, and the many implications of that, from the importance of spay/neuter and adopting (recycling) rather than buying a pet to how to buy less, buy smarter, use more natural products, and tune in to your pet’s natural instincts. The book also talks about why holistic health care is more eco-friendly, what foods are best, and even how to compost pet waste and design an eco-friendly and pet-friendly home and yard. That book will be out in October.

If you like to bake, look for another book I’ve got coming out, also in October, called Chow Hound: Wholesome Home Cooking for Your Doggy. It’s a cookbook for dog treats, so you can have more control over what you feed your dog. Many dog treats are just canine junk food, but not these. The recipes are easy, fun, economical, and you can even eat them yourself, if you are so inclined.

Finally, two of my books were recently released. First is 365 Ways to Reduce Stress, which is a great little book full of quick reminders about how to relax, calm down, and reverse the damaging stress response in your everyday life. Also released in April: Barron’s Beagle Bible. Please check that out if you have or are considering adopting a Beagle.

Yes, it’s been a really busy year, but I can’t complain. I love writing books and plan to keep ‘em coming, so keep checking back for more news. Thanks for your support!

Week 11 and we’re moving on up!

I just received a very exciting call from Bethenny Frankel. Our book, Naturally Thin, is not only still on the New York Times Best Seller List, but has moved up yet another position. We debuted at number 5 on the Paperback Advice/How-To list. After two weeks, we moved up to number 3, where we have stayed for 8 weeks. Now, in week 11, we are up to number two! Thank you so much to all of you who have purchased this book, and thanks for telling your friends because obviously you don’t move up the list this late in the game unless friends are telling friends and telling friends.

If you haven’t bought the book yet, but you are curious, please consider it. Bethenny and I think we can get to the number one spot, but we can’t do it without your help. Your reward? A great book that can inspire you and set you on the path to conquering your food frustrations and diet disgust.

Naturally Thin continues its successful run on the New York Times Best Seller list. We are still at number three, thanks to all of you who have bought the book. Thank you!! We are now working on the follow-up book so stay tuned for more information. It’s going to be a great one.

I hope some of you got to watch The Real Housewives of New York City last night. Bethenny was her hilarious self. I especially loved the scene where she tried to get all those reticent Connecticut grocery store customers to try her vegan cupcakes. She should come to Iowa City-they would be gone in seconds.

They also showed her doing the photo shoot for the cover of the book, and they showed a close-up of the book on the show, too–close enough that you could see my name under hers. We rock! This afternoon, we were #12 overall on amazon.com, so a lot of people must have been watching. But then, they always are.

Yesterday we started work on the second book–title to be announced later. It will be a whirlwind writing session again, but we’re both up for it. We have a great plan and concept for the book and it’s going to be the perfect complement to Naturally Thin. If you liked Naturally Thin, you’re going to love this book.

Farm Sanctuary Jazz Benefit

Farm Sanctuary president and co-founder Gene Baur will be coming to Iowa City at the end of April and volunteer Liz Cummings has enlisted me as vocalist, along with my dad’s old-standard jazz group, the Dick Watson Trio, to play for a benefit event at the Sanctuary Restaurant & Pub. If you are in town and support Farm Sanctuary, a group that works to promote compassion and stop the mistreatment of billions of farm animals in factory farms, please consider stopping by. I’ve just been notified that Naturally Thin is not only in its third week on the New York Times best seller list, but has moved up two spots, from number five to number three! Bethenny Frankel and I are both thrilled at the book’s success and hope that many more will find the book, read it, and live by it. Stay tuned for the second book. As I’ve mentioned before on my site, I recently helped Bethenny Frankel write her book, Naturally Thin: Unleash Your Skinnygirl and Free Yourself from a Lifetime of Dieting, which was published this month by Simon & Schuster. I am happy to report that the book debuted at #5 on the New York Times Best Seller list! Bethenny and I are both thrilled, of course. The book is fun to read, with sound advice to help people conquer their obsessions with dieting to live a “normal” life again. This book doesn’t tell you what to eat. It tells you how to eat. It’s really great, and I hope you will check it out!

Now we are busily working on book #2 (stay tuned for more information). While you are waiting for the second book to come out, why not enjoy a Skinnygirl Margarita? It’s Bethenny’s most famous creation (so far) and my favorite drink. Cheers!
